The Thanksgiving Scarecrow joined my collection on 12 January 2021, as one of the first BrickHeadz I ever bought. It’s the 84th figure in the series and part of the seasonal five that LEGO released in 2019, alongside the Valentine’s Puppy, the Easter Chick 40350, the Halloween Ghost and the Christmas set with a reindeer and elves. Thematically it refers back to the Thanksgiving Turkey 40273 from the previous year, except that instead of a bird, a farmer sits on the base. In LEGO’s line-up 40352 has 177 pieces, which is a bit more than a typical single BrickHeadz figure.

The build took me no more than twenty minutes, because it’s a classic BrickHeadz structure, but with a few nice details around the base. I had the most fun with the hat with loose strands of straw sticking out to the sides, which give the figure the character of a garden scarecrow. At the front of the base there are also carrots with green leaves and white fence pickets, which instantly turns a simple silhouette into a small autumn farm scene. On my shelf it stands next to the Turkey and the other seasonal BrickHeadz, so the arrangement is starting to form a calendar of American holidays all by itself.
