40273: Thanksgiving Turkey

LEGO BrickHeadz 40273 built figure

The Thanksgiving Turkey joined my collection on 3 May 2022, as another member of the seasonal BrickHeadz five from 2018. It’s the 32nd figure in the series, for which LEGO used 114 pieces, and it’s probably the set most firmly rooted in American tradition that I have on my shelf. I’ve already written about the Halloween Witch 40272 from the same five, and the Turkey follows exactly the same school of design: a single, clearly readable creature with extras on the base. Thanksgiving isn’t really celebrated in Poland, so I treat this set more as a collector’s bird than as a figure tied to a particular holiday evening.

The build took me maybe a quarter of an hour, which is typical for a set of this size, but the designers still managed to pack in plenty of character. I had the most fun with the tail of feathers in three shades of brown and orange, where each piece ends at a different angle and gives the figure a sense of volume. The base also holds carrots and white fence pickets, which instantly turns a simple figure into a small farm scene. On my shelf the set stands next to the other seasonal BrickHeadz from 2018.
