The Halloween Witch 40272 joined my collection on 12 January 2021, as one of the first BrickHeadz I ever bought. LEGO released it in 2018 as part of the holiday five, which kicked off with Valentine’s Bee 40270. It’s the 31st figure in the series, made of 151 pieces, and for me the best of the whole seasonal five. The green face and the purple pointed hat make her instantly recognisable.

The build went quickly, as you would expect with such a small set, but a few details left a good impression. What I liked most were the extras on the base: a black cauldron with a bubbling purple potion and a small carved pumpkin with a face. It’s exactly these little touches that give the figure some atmosphere, rather than making it look like just a character in a costume. I later managed to resell a second copy at a small profit, so the witch ended up costing me less than the market price would suggest. On my shelf she stands next to the Halloween Ghost 40351, another seasonal accent in my collection.
