In 2022 two LEGO BrickHeadz Sports sets were released: number 40541 dedicated to the Manchester United team and 40542 with FC Barcelona players.
The two sets don’t differ in concept, only in their colours, which in each case refer to the chosen team. As far as I know, LEGO has so far partnered with three football clubs. I infer this from the fact that there are three stadium sets. They are:
10272 Old Trafford - Manchester United
10284 Camp Nou - FC Barcelona
10299 Santiago Bernabeu - Real Madrid

Logic suggests we should expect a third BrickHeadz set as well, this time dedicated to Real Madrid players. And to be honest, for me that would already be too much. Football supporters probably don’t mind, and fans of these particular teams may even be pleased, but the truth is that these sets are no different from one another. As a BrickHeadz collector, I am not interested in collecting the same figures over and over; what draws me to them is precisely their variety. The prospect of more sets with football teams, and later with other sports too, is a bit frightening. Not that I dislike the idea of sets that give us the freedom to build a character, as was the case with set number 41597 Go Brick Me. Quite the opposite, I like it a lot. At the same time I think two sets dedicated specifically to footballers are plenty.
The set provides far more pieces than are needed to build one figure, much like the 41597 set I mentioned. We can decide what skin colour our character will have and its gender (by choosing a suitable hairstyle). The set comes with number stickers that let us give our figure some individuality and, in principle, build a figure of our favourite player. On top of that, the set includes pieces to build a goal.
