Set number 41597 is unique in every respect. For the first time LEGO put into our hands a set that gives a lot of creative freedom. From the very beginning BrickHeadz was promoted as an idea that lets you recreate practically any character, and many people have always built all sorts of figures, including themselves. In fact, that’s exactly what the “fathers” of the series did. The “Go Brick Me” set officially promoted this idea.

The variety of bricks in this set allows for a great deal. We can build ourselves, with the right skin colour and a hairstyle that fairly clearly defines gender. What’s more, there are some extra bricks that let us capture our personality, a favourite pastime or a profession. The instructions are extensive and give us many ready-made character elements to recreate, but of course we can also let our own creativity run free. This set also introduced glasses, an element LEGO designed specifically for BrickHeadz.
The sheer range of possibilities shows on the Internet, where you can find many interesting builds based on this very set. One of the more impressive examples you can see here. In short: one company decided to make individual figures for its employees as Christmas gifts, mainly based on this set.
I consider this set a great success and I honestly regret that it wasn’t available for longer.
As a bit of trivia, I’ll add that the base character (the whole figure made of white bricks) is BrickHeadz Nonnie.
