41628 Princess Leia Organa joined my collection on 31 August 2021. Leia is number 72 from 2018, one of the last Star Wars sets in one of the waves, together with the already described 41627 Luke Skywalker & Yoda, 41619 Darth Vader and 41620 Stormtrooper. This version of the character comes from Episode IV: A New Hope.

Leia’s 124 pieces focus on two details. The strongest is the double bun, made in an unconventional way, because instead of the standard BrickHeadz bricks it uses 1x2x1 bricks with exposed studs combined with angular plates. Leia breaks the typical template precisely for this hairstyle. The second point of interest is the royal belt of Alderaan, with printed metallic accents on the very edge of 1x1 plates, one of the smallest prints in LEGO history. The white gown is long and flowing, with a blaster in her hand. Of the other SW BrickHeadz in my collection, I’ve already written about 41602 Rey as the second SW heroine, and from the SDCC exclusives I have 41498 Boba Fett and Han Solo in Carbonite.
