40379: Valentine’s Bear

I’ve had the Valentine’s Bear in my collection since 19 August 2021, having bought it directly on lego.com. It is BrickHeadz number 97 from 2020, with 150 pieces and a single figure of a brown bear: it holds a heart-shaped lollipop in its paws, and on the base there are flowers, a honey jar and a tiny bee. For me that bee is a natural wink to 40270 Valentine’s Bee, the first holiday BrickHeadz from 2018.

Building it took me about twenty minutes, and the instructions move at a relaxed pace. Two elements appealed to me most: the bee above the green tuft of grass and the heart lollipop. The figure works quite well in little scenes with other seasonal BrickHeadz. I put it in one row with the Valentine’s Puppy 40349 and the Valentine’s Bee, so I have a ready-made Valentine’s display straight off the shelf for 14 February. It’s a set without fireworks, but exactly what I expect from the seasonal line, and I recommend it as a small Valentine’s surprise.
