German Shepherds is set 40440 from 2021, part of the BrickHeadz Pets wave. The box contains two figures: an adult dog marked with number 118 and its puppy with number 119. It joined my collection on 24 July 2022. I’ve written before that I consider the whole Pets series an experiment that didn’t work, but you may disagree with me 😉

In total, 247 pieces translate into two figures of different sizes, which is typical of the Pets sub-series. The larger shepherd looks like a classic BrickHeadz and I have no complaints here: the palette of browns with a black muzzle captures the breed well. The smaller puppy sits next to the adult on a red base, but because of the shortened proportions it looks somehow odd. I put the set together with the goldfish and the other animal BrickHeadz in one corner of the shelf, where they start to look like a group rather than individual oddities. I recommend this set mainly if you already have other Pets, because only as a complete set does this sub-series start to make any sense to me.
