A second person with a complete BrickHeadz collection?

As you may remember, in October 2022, in the post “The only complete BrickHeadz collection”, I wrote about Lars Conrad. He is so far the only confirmed person who has a complete BrickHeadz collection, including the rarest figure in the series, Nonnie Inside Tour 2017. In the last few days I came across a second collector who claims to have all the figures. Is he telling the truth?

On 30 June 2023 a post from the user Wing-hung Leung appeared in several groups on facebook.com. Wing was lucky enough to be at the third edition of Inside Tour this June. But what caught my attention was the fact that the photo in which he shows off his haul also includes the Nonnie we all long for (numbered 23/80).

Intrigued by the situation, I decided to write to him, and to my pleasant surprise he soon replied. The story is short and largely mysterious. It turns out that while at this year’s Inside Tour, Wing simply received this figure from a “LEGO designer”, that is, from Marcos Bessa. Asked how that was possible, he apologised, writing that he couldn’t give the reason why he had been singled out like that. As far as I know, he is the only person this year who received such an unexpected gift.

Delighted with his luck, Wing added that someone told him his figure might be worth between 5 and 8 thousand USD. In my opinion he’s definitely right. At the end of our conversation Wing wrote this sentence: “Actually I have ALL the brickheadz including ALL special edition”. If that’s true, Wing is the second person I know of with a complete collection. It’s no secret that all the other figures can be obtained. Of course that costs money, but it isn’t unrealistic. To have a complete collection, though, you need Nonnie, who is practically impossible to buy because nobody sells him. So anyone who owns him is a potential candidate for being able to boast of a complete collection. Wing’s story is relatively credible; I can’t confirm it any other way. You have to decide for yourselves whether he’s telling the truth. I believe him 😉

Update
Wing is a very nice man who turns out to be a really big LEGO fan. We talked for a while longer, and I asked him for photos of his collection. He wrote that he doesn’t have a photo of the whole thing, but he sent me a few pictures of the rarest sets, like the ones from Comic-Con or The LEGO Movie. I won’t post them all; two of them catch the eye the most.

As you can see, Wing doesn’t spare any money on his hobby 🙂 When I asked whether, in that case, some of these sets were for sale since he has duplicates, he only replied that “collecting LEGO gives him happiness”. And he added that he has more than 3 thousand new unopened LEGO sets! He went on to boast that he also collects the Inside Tour sets and other rare sets. As he wrote himself, “I have most of the sets numbered 40000xx”.

I asked Wing whether he knew of a fellow Pole who was also at Inside Tour this year, but he replied that Piotr “Brewa” Brewczyński was at the 4th edition and he was at the 3rd.

I won’t hide that what interested me most was Nonnie Inside Tour 2017, and here Wing didn’t let me down. He sent four photos which, I think, finally dispel any doubts about whether his story is genuine. I’m posting three below, and I’ve set the fourth as the main photo of this post.

Here are his never before published photos of the Nonnie set, and of him next to Marcos Bessa, who personally signed his copy. Thank you, Wing, for our conversation!
