We have the first photos of BrickHeadz set number 40622, and right away they’re sharp and official. We’ll have to wait until February for the new figures, so less than a month.
It’s a nice change to get official photos straight away and skip the guessing fever. I’m of course referring to the leaks about the BrickHeadz LotR sets. Today they’re finally available, but the guessing about them went on for a long time, and for a while we were trying to make out details in pixelated photos.
40622: Disney 100th Celebration (501 pieces)
Personally, I like the set. Pretty much every figure has something interesting about it. It will be nice to put Mickey Mouse on my shelf in a version from almost 100 years ago (the animated film Steamboat Willie premiered in 1928, and the studio’s popularity started with it). A black and white character like this will look particularly good against the other colourful BrickHeadz sets. Even so, my favourite is Tinker Bell. She looks adorable! Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, on the other hand, is a less well-known character, although he’s promoted as the one who debuted in the first fully animated series from The Walt Disney Company. They remember their roots so much that they bought back the rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit in 2006, and since then they’ve regularly referred to this character, and last year they released a short animation that you can watch below. The last character in the set is Snow White, and I think she’s very well done too, although she doesn’t stand out much (but that’s how she had to be).
Disney is happily celebrating 100 years of its existence, and as early as February we’ll be able to enjoy the set above for PLN 179.99. There’s already a page on lego.com with the details. According to the leaks, in March we’ll get three more sets, which also look very interesting. I won’t hide that I’m really pleased with how things are turning out.
Update 2023-01-22
The first reviews of the set have already appeared online. You can read one of them (if you know German, otherwise Google Translate does the job) at this address. There’s also plenty of photo coverage. Only a few days are left until the set’s release.
