Today I came across the rumour again that LEGO is preparing a set numbered 40614 dedicated to the Real Madrid team. I’ve already written about it once on the microblog. Back then brickfanatics.com (citing Promobricks’ Instagram) reported that such a set might appear soon. Now the bricksup.co.uk portal brings similar revelations. The set is supposed to cost around $19.99 and we should expect the launch in August. Searching further, other sources say the set may appear between June and August.
Personally, I think the release of such a set is only a matter of time. LEGO works with three football clubs, and we have sets of three stadiums. So far we’ve had BrickHeadz of Barcelona and Manchester United. It doesn’t take any special imagination to guess that Real Madrid will be next.
