After a short spell of silence about next year’s new releases, we now have the first confirmed launch. It’s set 40615. The rumours said it would be a Star Wars Endor five-pack, but that turned out not to be entirely true.
In the two previous news posts about the leaks (here and here) we predicted that set number 40615 would be released in January and would be a Star Wars Endor five-pack. Meanwhile, set 40623 Tusken Raider was supposed to come out in May. Now we know officially that it all got a bit mixed up, but in the end it will be like this: in January we’ll get set 40615 Tusken Raider.
The set will have 152 pieces, probably including one brick with a custom print. In the BrickHeadz series numbering the figure will get number 182. In the Polish-language version the official name of the set is “Tuskeński rabuś” (roughly “Tuskenian Robber”; it sounds awful).
The model of this character from the Star Wars universe certainly wasn’t easy to recreate, and I have my doubts about the final result. It probably won’t be my favourite figure.
Now that we know which set really hides behind number 40615, will the Star Wars Endor five-pack be released in May after all, as number 40623? We’ll see, but I hope the rumours about the plans for that set really are confirmed and we’ll see it next year.
You’ll find a fuller description of the figure on lego.com.
